LOVE OF THE LAND
SINCE 1905

The family
The origins of the farm
Our origins go back to the early 1900s, with twenty-five settlers and a typically Tuscan sharecropping system. The passing of the years brought about an evolution in organisational and entrepreneurial terms, with the Calvo Pegna family leading the modernisation process aimed at meeting new market and consumer demands while respecting traditional values and techniques.
From the very beginning, the priority has been to shorten the production chain, with a cycle that starts from crop and husbandry activities, moving on to processing through the activities of the mill, the vineyard, the cured meat and the dairy shop, and arriving at direct sales through a network of farm shops started in 1964 with the first points of sale and then spread throughout the province of Arezzo and the city of Florence. Meats and cured meats, aged sheep’s cheese and fresh cheese, extra virgin olive oil and wines: the entire variety of products come directly from the farm’s fields and herds, bringing producer and consumer closer together.

THE MEMBERS
One family and the commitment to hand down, protect and enhance the rural identity of our land. Fattoria di Rimaggio is managed by the Calvo Pegna family, now in its third generation, and relies on more than one hundred employees engaged in various company roles ranging from production to direct sales. Oenologists, cheese makers, oil millers, pork butchers or counter workers: our production chain boasts professionals who, with passion and preparation, keep yesterday’s traditions alive and project them into tomorrow.
